

Project Summary
Perform accessibility audits on eLearning courses developed for a a division of the CDC. Work collaboratively with e-learning developers to fix identified accessibility issues. The accessibility audits and evaluations include:
Keyboard accessibility checks – Can the e-learning course be navigated via keyboard and other assistive technologies?
Use of screen reader apps including NVDA to navigate e-learning course.
Evaluation of course accessibility responsiveness on mobile devices.

WHO: Client – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
WHAT: Backend 508 compliance audits on e-learning course programming.
RESULT: Increase in completed courses that pass the stringent government 508complaince and CDC eClearance process for online learning modules.

Project Summary
Design new multimedia content, and remediate existing documents according to Section 508 Compliance guidelines. Section 508 remediation is the process of converting a document into a resource (like PDFs) that is accessible to individuals with disabilities, and compliant with the federal regulations in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
The document remediation process also:
Enhances the user experience and accessibility for all users with improved content structure, increased content searchability, navigation, and readability.
Allows screen readers to accurately describe visual information, structured content, and graphic elements within digital publications.
WHO: Clients – Multiple divisions at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
WHAT: Design and remediate documents and digital content from Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other multimedia formats.
RESULT: Increase in the 1st attempt success rate of documents and resources that pass the 508 compliance and CDC eClearance process for online resources.
Digital content should be accessible and developed in accordance to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Section 508 compliance guidelines. Creating accessible digital content and resources – like documents, is important to the overall user experience for all users, especially those who rely on assistive technologies.
