SUMMARY: Create a user-friendly CDC division site that is easy- to-navigate and eliminates redundant public health information.

TASKS: User research, UX audit, wireframing and prototyping, visual design, information architecture, accessibility and usability testing, 

OUTCOME: On-target project completion, improved information architecture, with over 30% reduction in redundant public health information. Creation of a responsive mobile site for smart devices.

Creating an eLearning Course for Laboratory Professionals

CLIENT: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

SUMMARY: Creation of an elearning course that equips clinical laboratory professionals with information about laboratory testing, and implications for facilities that perform regulated clinical testing.

TASKS: functional testing, visual design, accessibility audit and testing.

OUTCOME: Course successfully lunched and LIVE on the CDC eLearning platform.

Redesign of ‘OnTrac’ – A Technical Resource & Assistance Center

CLIENT: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

SUMMARY: Redesign project for an online platform that will provide health departments with a secure and user-friendly platform to request technical assistance from CDC subject matter experts.

TASKS: User research, rapid prototyping, wireframes, Lo/Hi-Fi fidelity mockups, user personas, visual design, web accessibility audit.

OUTCOME: Creation of 1st phase functional prototype. Project  on hold due to current focus on emergency preparedness for the COVID-19 pandemic.

In My Backyard – Fulldome Immersive Planetarium Show 

CLIENT: CocaCola Space Science Center

SUMMARY: Use entertaining songs and an immersive environment to create a fulldome show for a preK- 5 audience; establish a streamlined and well-documented process for creation of future shows. 

TASKS: Project management, storyboarding, design sprints, rapid prototyping, user research, visual design and branding.

OUTCOME: Creation of a children’s fulldome planetarium show  with over $100,000 in ticket and show sales. Well documented and streamlined process for creation of future fulldome planetarium shows.

WCAG and Section 508 Compliance

Digital content should be accessible and developed in accordance to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Section 508 compliance guidelines. Creating accessible digital content and resources – like documents, is important to the overall user experience for all users, especially those who rely on assistive technologies
